HHI Zambia is directed by Mr Joseph Maninga who is a retired special needs teacher and he leads a team of 16 Zambian staff. Mrs Carole Nzila administers the finances and Mr Jonah Sialumano oversees the charitable needs work within local communities. The whole organisation is governed by a local board of trustees of which Mr Maheritona is the newly appointed chair person.
There are a number of buildings in the compound. This enables HHI to provide a number of opportunities to teach people new skills. The print room employs a number of disabled people who run the facility like a business - printing for local businesses, schools and hospital. HHI premises also includes guest rooms, a sewing department, a small recording studio, a library, and an audiology clinic.
HHI Zambia starts each day with prayer, praise and wonderful Zambian singing. Some of the staff are physically challenged and HHI supports disabled trainees who receive a small living allowance for the contribution they make. They are encouraged to learn new skills as well as helping with the day to day running of the headquarters. Everyone works together and sets an example to Zambian society by demonstrating that disability is not inaility.
Our work in Zambia is funded entirely from the UK. Each and every month, regular reports and accounts are emailed to the UK which clearly show how the funds have been spent and the names of all those who have benefited.
We are a UK Registered Charity - No. 1078353
