Pastor Sam

We recently received very sad news from India: Pastor Sam has died after a long illness.

Pastor Sam was one of our longest-serving colleagues in India.  He had a heart for the poor, and in particular for the destitute women who live on the streets of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), many of whom have psychiatric problems.  He started taking them into his home, and then into a building in his back yard, before founding Thanal House, a purpose-built building which served as a refuge for them.  HHI has helped to finance much of this work.

He will be sorely missed by many people.  He was a man of great faith, of great compassion, and of great action.

Please pray for his wife, Valsala, and his daughters Shyni and Shalini.  Please also pray for Tom Sutherland and Philip, and for us as we work together to find a way of continuing this wonderful work.
