DAY 8 Monday September 18th

More Morning Visitors – Lackson

There are always customers waiting to be seen at HHZ.  They know they will receive consideration from Brenda and Mwansa, and hopefully some funding as well to help them in their plight.

Seven-year-old Lackson looked very weak and had difficulty breathing. He is severely disabled, has epilepsy and needs monthly medication which has been prescribed by the hospital.  This month Lackson’s mum didn’t have the K200 (£8) to buy the drugs.

In Zambia disabled people register with Social Welfare, acquire a doctor’s signature, and then receive a Disability Card which entitles them to an allowance of K800 (£32) month. Last year, although Lackson’s mother registered, she still hasn’t received her card, despite being informed that it would arrive in June!!  Needless to say, HHI has paid for the medicines this month and Lackson’s mother will follow up the issue with Social Welfare. Desperate people know that they will receive consideration from Brenda and Mwansa,  and hopefully some funding to help them in their plight.
