Happy Valley

Happy Valley has seen several changes recently.  The physiotherapist and speech therapist both left to pursue higher studies, and both are being replaced.  This is normal – the school provides a wonderful training ground for younger workers in this field and stimulates them to higher things.  And a clerical error in the relevant government department led to the cancellation of the school’s registration – apparently this cannot be rectified, and a new application is required!  No problem, the school continues to operate as normal.

The school is very popular, with many parents clamouring for their children to be admitted, far beyond what the school can cater for.  They are currently searching for a larger building.

At the start of the academic year (April / May) six new children joined the school, including Abhijith and Abhirami, brother and sister.  Both parents are severely mentally disabled and the family are in absolute poverty, so the school provides everything for them – food, travel, uniforms.  But in just one month they are already showing great progress, and hopes are high for their future.
