HELP HEALTH INTERNATIONAL – 25 YEARS OLD
The 25th Anniversary Challenge was to raise £25,000 for a new dormitory at Choongo All Inclusive School in Zambia!
The good news is that because of your generosity…WE DID IT! And that made our celebration even more special! Heartfelt gratitude goes to those who dug deep and enabled the wonderful well-equipped dormitory to be completed! Thank you.
Nant Coch Church hosted our celebrations and graciously provided endless teas and coffees to accompany the lovely spread. At refreshment time, supporters old and new were entertained by Rita Noel, the talented City of Newport Symphony Orchestra woodwind player, and Newport West MP, Ruth Jones also popped in to give her support and best wishes.
As usual, sales of our popular and much sought after ‘Home and Away’ crafts were very encouraging. There’s always something for everyone!
And we ate cake!

During our joyous and upbeat Thanksgiving Service, led by Chris Byrne, a presentation was made to Mike Hopkin for his dedicated service over the last 25 years which included collecting tons of hospital equipment and organising container shipments. HHI founder, patron and ‘man with a vision’ – Ron Prosser – also received a book of annotated photos taken over the last 25 years illustrating the amazing story of HHI.
Quote of the night…
‘It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.’ RP. We look forward to lighting many candles as we meet the challenges the next 25 years will bring!
It was a Thanksgiving Service to remember. We have, after all, so much to give thanks for!
