Collecting the callipers
During our October 2025 visit to Monze Mission Hospital we saw many children suffering with malnutrition. The nutritionist explained to us that the staff are doing their best to support mothers and provide formula milk for the malnourished babies. Often mothers are in poor health too and do not have sufficient breast milk. Formula milk is expensive, so HHI has increased its monthly contribution to the hospital to help with this need.
The nutritionist also explained that a trifold skin calliper is necessary to access the level of malnutrition in youngsters but unfortunately it is not available in Zambia. Not to worry, £130 was sent to Health Help Zambia in the monthly allocation and Brenda, the HHZ administrator ordered it on-line and it was donated to the hospital on Boxing day.
Job done thanks to your support and great coordination in Monze.
