Successful Sewing
Since completing the tailoring course, which was provided by HHZ in Monze, Mainza has been making items of clothing for folks in her rural village of Ntambo where she lives with her parents. Mainza who is unable to hear or speak, was trained by the HHZ seamstress in the HHZ compound at the beginning of this year. There were 3 other disabled trainees, all cared for by the HHZ staff during their training. On their graduation in March 2025, they each received a new sewing machine funded by HHIUK. With support from Alistair, the HHZ tailoring tutor, all the graduates have returned to their home to start generating income with their new skills. They were given start-up capital, too. Amazingly, Mainza has earned enough money to pay for foundations for a new home for herself and her two small children.
Well done Mainza !! Congratulations. We look forward to seeing it completed.
