TIRELESS SHIBU
Shibu’s wonderful work in Trivandrum Medical College Hospital has finally been officially recognised with an award.
For many years Shibu has worked tirelessly as a volunteer in the hospital, acting as a bystander for patients who have no-one to look after them and who would not be admitted otherwise – feeding them, washing them, getting their medicines, tending their wounds and so on. For the neediest patients, this can involve 24/7 care, in which case Shibu sleeps under their bed. He has an excellent reputation with the nursing staff, who will often alert him to other needs in the hospital. He receives a small wage from HHIUK, as well as an allowance towards his lodgings and a contribution to his pension scheme.
He is truly inspirational!
And the award ceremony got into the local news!
