Letter from India

We have recently received an email from Philip, which gives a good picture of the situation in his part of Kerala. As you can see, he is doing a great job of finding ways of keeping things going despite the lockdown.

Dear Sir,

Greetings and best wishes to you the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sending money for our services.

We are now very very anxious about the spreading coronavirus. People have no work and no income sources .Educational institutions are not opening – online education is developing everywhere. Below 10 years and above 65 years old people are not prohibited to travel and visit public places .Now in India and in Kerala virus is spreading rapidly than other places. Educational institutions will open in August above 10 years old. Up to that time online classes will continue. Our special school has already arranged online classes. Our children and parents are very co-operative and also arrange therapy three days a week. One day only one child came for physiotherapy .That is why some physical exercises are showing in online classes. Our staff come to our centre three days in a week. for preparing classes and activities, taking video and to our children through Whatsapp. They received and learned it, and it was sent back to us .Teachers assessed it and suggested the student correct it. We visited each and every students house and gave them hand masks and hand wash and vegetable kits. More over we visited and gave vegetables kits to other patients.

Tuition groups in their own teacher’s house morning and evening classes are functioning in accordance with social distances. We gave Masks and Hand wash to our tuition children. Students strength is very low because below ten years old are not allowed to move to public places. We could not conduct tours for tuition children. We used that fund to buy notebooks and pens. We distribute it in August.

I also visited the kidney patient’s houses in Trivandrum district.and gave the money for medicine so I could understand the financial situation of all patients. I will visit 9 kidney patients in Kollam district in July.

According to the assessment I can distribute the financial help to them . Moreover I visited the old needy people’s house and gave monthly help for their daily expenses. I can send their name and details. Our local support is cut down due to the Covid 19. I am also sending the financial report of the last three months.

We hope you and your family and HHI members are keeping well. My father needs 5 more radiations. Please pray for him. We are praying to each other for the protection of coronavirus.

Love and greetings from Philip
