Cobbling together a living

Physically disabled Augustine Samutamu no longer needs to rely on HHI monthly food support. During the Covid pandemic, Augustine was one of 100 disabled people who were identified in the Monze area as being in desperate need of help to survive. All 100 of them  received mealie -meal, vegetables, cooking oil and hand sanitizer to help overcome their lack of  income and very few  employment opportunities.

Gradually, since the beginning of 2023, those who were previously dependent on the monthly HHI support have been given a startup capital of £60 to begin their own income generating business. Augustine Samutamu has used his money to open up a shoe repair stand in Monze market. Our HHZ team who are monitoring say the business is going well and Augustine sends his appreciation to you all.
