A great story from the HHI visit to Zambia last year …

On the first morning of our 2025 visit to Monze, Zambia, Bumba Nsanya visited the HHZ compound asking for help. He had serious kidney problems and needed stoma and colostomy bags. Fortunately , the HHIUK visitors, Liz Jones and Jute Williams had brought with them three suitcases packed with unwanted, unused stoma bags no longer needed by UK patients, so Bumba’s needs could be met. He was delighted! Stoma equipment is collected in the UK throughout the year, and during each annual visit to Monze, it is freely given to Monze Mission hospital to help patients such as Bumba. The good news is that since our visit, Bumba has undergone a surgical procedure at the hospital and is now completely whole again. He no longer needs colostomy bags, but he is really grateful for receiving them prior to his operation . Bumba and his mother visited HHZ to express their heartfelt thanks to HHIUK supporters who donated these precious resources.
If anyone would like to visit our work in Zambia or India, please let us know. It is great to see it first hand!
