Abigail and Alec :  A Touching Start to the Day

The morning started with Brenda asking Jute to visit her office to help resolve a tricky situation.

Abigail is deaf, and she wants to go back to school. Indeed, she has a place in Maamba Special School. Abigail’s mother explained that Abigail had been raped and has a two-year-old son. Her mother said that she would look after Alec at home if Abigail could take up her place in Maamba. They needed £56 for school fees, travel money and some supplies for Abigail to take with her to start the term. Thankfully, Jute was able to give the required amount using some of the funds given to her by SFHHI.

And were they grateful? Well, Abigail’s mother fell on the floor in appreciation and wept.

And Abigail’s son, Alec, went away with two toy cars as well.
