DAY 3 – 10th JANUARY 2026
SMALL HELPS THAT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE
I sometimes say that I pray with more people in ten days in India than in the rest of the year in the UK. Indeed, praktika (prayer) is one of the few Malayalam words that I know. Well I think that I have prayed with more people today than in the whole of 2025. It is one of the joys of our holistic ministry.
Over the course of the day I visited 20 different people, all with different but great needs. Some I could help immediately, like Thankammani who fell off the building he was working on many years ago and seriously injured himself. Whilst he had recovered to some extent, he could not return to his old work. A gift of £40 was enough to enable him to set up a small business

Thankammani
Sujera suffered a stroke leaving her left side partially paralysed. She is a widow after her husband drowned in the nearby lake. Medication is improving her movement; we contribute to the cost of this.

Liddy
One particular visit stands out. Liddy had a stroke two and a half years ago, leaving her paralysed and unable to talk, at which point her husband deserted her and her two children. Her father died last month, leaving her mother the impossible task of both caring for and providing for the family.
Just £20 a month will make a huge difference to this tragic family.
