During his recent visit to India, Edmund met Gomayhy a 75-year-old Hindu widow. She lives in a dilapidated mud brick house which stands on a small plot of land. Her children died in infancy. She receives a small old-age pension and 500R (£5) from the Banyan Tree each month. Her nephew helps with money for food and because she is diabetic and has breathing difficulties, HHI provides an additional 500R (£5) for medicines.
Gomayhy desperately needs a new roof at a cost of £290. Nant Coch Church has already donated a generous £100 and Gomayhy is very grateful for all the help she has received.
