Brian’s career was spent entirely in education – over 40 years. He taught mathematics for many years before moving into school management. He then worked for the county advisory service, before finishing his career as a Registered Inspector of Schools. He is now retired.
Brian now uses his mathematical expertise to keep a track of HHI’s finances, ensuring that the receipts correspond to outgoings, allocating all the money that comes in (including Gift Aid) to the appropriate restricted fund, designated fund or “general”, allocating expenditure in the same way, matching it all with bank statements, and producing a comprehensive monthly spreadsheet so that we know how much money we have available to spend, and what we can spend it on.
