Recycling with a difference
Here in the UK, if people have a colostomy reversal operation they are left with a lot of supplies and equipment that they no longer need. The NHS won’t take it back, so it ends up as waste in landfill. At the same time people in other parts of the world are crying out for such supplies and suffering when they can’t get them.
Here at HHI we say no to waste and yes to meeting people’s needs, so we collect these materials. Yesterday Edmund and Tim drove a car load of them down to Medical Aid International, who will put them on a container going to Dr Breen, an old friend of HHI, in Madagascar. Not wanted here, but they will certainly be appreciated there!
