DAY 6 – 13th JANUARY 2026

ASHA KIRAN ASHRAM (Part 2)

Yesterday I introduced you to Saran, the birthday boy. Today he got the best gift ever – he was able to stand up without support for the first time. And he is now trying to walk. Wonderful news! And a great testimony to the skills of the new physiotherapist, who only started at the beginning of the month.

The new chairs and desks have reinvigorated the teaching. They are very solid – strong to resist anything that the children do to them, and so heavy that they won’t be knocked over. And their construction provided much needed employment for local craftsmen.

But it wasn’t all work. After lunch we were treated to a great display from some dancing girls (and a few boys).

Tomorrow is a public holiday, so no school. But I have been promised a visit from Beulah which will make up for it.
