DAY 7- 14th JANUARY 2026

ASHA KIRAN ASHRAM (Part 3)

I had hoped to meet Beulah, the student we have equipped with a succession of prosthetic legs. But at the last minute her school refused permission to visit.

All was not lost. We were able to visit Saran in his tiny home. We had met him in school on Days 5 and 6. Despite their poverty they welcomed us with coffee and coconut milk (straight from the coconut!) and told us how they had been visited by staff from Asha Kiran Ashram.

It was pointed out in discussions the need to publicise the services that Asha Kiran Ashram provides, and the stories of lives transformed by being there.

In the same village we visited two young men working at a motorcycle workshop. Akashram and Kartik were only able to crawl when they first came to Asha Kiran Ashram. When they left school they were able to walk, run and jump. It just goes to show what skilled physiotherapy, and a supportive environment can achieve.
