John is well known to our long time HHI supporters. In 2008, having just qualified as a doctor, John was invited to speak at one of our supporters’ evenings in Newport.
John was funded through his medical studies by HHI. In 2018 John was promoted to District Health Director of the Vubwi District, which is 60km from Chipata. He is required to manage resources for twelve health centres staffed by clinical officers and nurses. A new hospital has been built and is almost complete but there is a serious need for hospital equipment. The list included defibrillators, nebulisers, CPAPs (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) diathermy machines and much more. As soon as the needs were known our supporters gave generosity which enabled Jute Williams to take some of the machinery directly to John while visiting Zambia.
John is married with two daughters.
