Prisca is a physically disabled teacher and the sole breadwinner for her family. She has shown that education, determination and hard work can turn a person’s life around.
Many years ago, Prisca received a wheelchair from HHI which enabled her to attend secondary school and gain her leaving certificate. She then trained as a seamstress. Funded by HHI UK, Prisca then went to university and trained as a teacher. Volunteering at Muumba school led to full-time employment with the Ministry of Education.
Prisca has been able to secure a loan and purchase a plot of land to build two houses. Along with her two children she lives in the larger home and tenants rent her other house.
