Jonah Sialumano, our Disabilities Affairs Officer in Zambia, sent us this account of the official handover of the house which was built using monies donated by HHI supporters for Priscilla and her new baby.
‘The official hand over of Priscilla’s house was done on 18th June,2019 as planned. The Hand over was done by the HHZ Vice Board Chairperson Mr Funcy Gondwe who spoke about the works of HHZ and what HHIUK has done for Priscilla. Other HHZ trustees who were present and also spoke were Margaret Chisango and Mr Gift Mwanga. Mr Mwanga also spoke on behalf of the Government as a District Social Welfare Officer and commended HHZ and HHIUK for the job well done to uplift the standard of living for Priscilla and other disabled vulnerable persons. The Community of Ntambo was represented by the Area Councillor and Two Village Head Men. Members of the Ntambo Community witnessed the handover of the house. The letters attaching a copies of Hand Over Certificate to relevant authorities such as the Court, Community development, Social Welfare, Traditional Leaders, the police, the District Commissioners, HHIUK among others were written and are being delivered.’

‘The only challenge for Priscilla which needs to be addressed of which we are appealing to HHIUK for financial support is the issue of constructing a user friendly toilet and house lighting (solar).’
